Read for Life
Empower children and adults to break the cycle of poverty in the their lives.

Read for Life is an after school tutoring program for first and second graders at Cleveland Elementary School in Port Huron.  We tutor every Monday and Wednesday for one hour during the school year.  Students are identified by their teachers as needing a boost in reading.  All lessons and materials are provided to the tutors for each session.

We recruit volunteer tutors in September and during the school year.  If you are interested in tutoring, please call the church office at 810-982-9261.  There is a lot to celebrate when a child exclaims "I can read".

We are funded by community grants from the Community Foundation Youth Advisory Council and the Gannett Foundation, along with individual donations and our Irish Stew Dinner fundraiser held in March.
